FOOTBALL fans across Africa are in for a treat as pay-TV platform, StarTimes, secured the rights to broadcast the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup.
The highly anticipated tournament kicks off on December 12th (today) in Saudi Arabia and will feature seven of the world’s top club teams vying for the coveted trophy.
UEFA Champions League winners Manchester City, Copa Libertadores de América winners Fluminense, CAF Champions League winners Al Ahly and Karim Benzema’s Al Al Ittihad will lead the football show.
The first match between Al Ittihad and Auckland City kicks off today at 7pm. All the matches will air on StarTimes Sports Premium channel 246 on dish decoder or channel 252 on antenna decoder.
The competition is expected to be fiercely contested, with several teams boasting world-class talents. Man City, led by the ever-dangerous Erling Haaland and Bernado Silva, are naturally favoured to win the title, but the likes of Fluminense, with their vibrant attacking style and Al Ahly, Africa’s shining stars, will be looking to upset the odds.
Beyond the on-field competition, the FIFA Club World Cup is also a celebration of global sports, uniting fans from across the world.

The winners of the competition will bag a total of $5m along with a glittering trophy to add to their trophy cabinet, while the runners-up take home $4m.
