OVER three hours after the commencement of voting nationwide, voters in Tarauni Local Govt of Kano State are kept waiting on their queues as INEC staffs are yet to set up for the exercise in the area.
News Points Nigeria reports that, voters queued up as early as 7am in the area waiting to exercise their civic responsibilities but the delay in arrival of the INEC officials has hindered that with a little over two hours to closing of voting time.
A voter, Alhaji Usman Nura Alkassim, who spoke to News Point Nigeria via telephone lamented the lack of readiness from the INEC as well as the tardiness of the set up shortly after their arrival.
“It’s sad that we have been on the queues for over three hours and nothing is happening here, the INEC officials just arrived and nothing seem to be moving.
“Voting is our right as Nigerians. We want to vote and we must vote. It is my wish that the INEC do the needful as it is almost 12pm now”, Alhaji Usman concluded.
