THE Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured the people of Gombe State that if elected as President, his administration will effectively drill and develop the Kolmani oil field for the socio- economic benefit of the people of the state and the nation as a whole.

    BORNO PATRIOTS

The APC presidential flag bearer gave the assurance in Gombe during the party’s campaign rally held at the Pantami Township Stadium, Gombe.

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu was received with plump and open arms into Gombe by a mammoth crowd of party supporters and other residents who thronged the venue of the rally.

The former Lagos State Governor, who landed at the Gombe International Airport around 12:30pm, was received by the host Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya,  APC vice presidential candidate, Senator Kashim Shettima, APC National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, among other party chieftains.

Hundreds of party faithful joined in the reception party at the airport, creating a long convoy of vehicles.

The convoy was warmly cheered by residents as it moved through the streets to the palace of the Emir of Gombe, Alhaji Abubakar Shehu Abubakar, for traditional homage.

At the Pantami Stadium, venue of the rally which was filled to the brim with enthusiastic party supporters, Tinubu promised a better Gombe and a consolidation of the remarkable progress by Governor Yahaya.

He noted that Governor Yahaya has done very well, assuring that when elected, he will ensure that Gombe State continues to witness positive developments.

He said the recently-developed Kolmani oil wells in the state would receive adequate attention to ensure full commercial operation and benefits for the people.

He also pledged to support the industrial park in the state, which he said will provide employment and create skills and wealth for the people.

While appreciating the people of Gombe State and the Governor  for the grand reception, Asiwaju Tinubu urged the electorate to ensure the return of Inuwa Yahaya for his second term.

The APC National Chairman, Sen. Abdullahi Adamu said the party would continue to deliver on its mandate of developing the country, hence urged electorate in Gombe State to vote all candidates of the party.

In his remarks, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya said APC is well grounded in Gombe State and will win all elections comfortably.

He enjoined the people of the state to stand firm in support and solidarity with the APC at all levels in the forthcoming general election.

The Governor observed that the contractual agreement between his administration and the people of the state has been substantially delivered given the massive investment in health, education, social welfare and infrastructural development among others.

The Governor called on APC supporters and well wishers in the state to remain calm and replicate the 2019 feat where the party delivered a crushing defeat to the then ruling People’s Democratic Party PDP in the state.

He lauded the Federal Government,  under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari for its efforts in addressing the challenges of the nation.

“We in the North East are in a better position to tell of the positive effects of the present administration in the country. President Muhammadu Buhari stood firm towards the provision of security and substantial amount of human and capital development”.

He assured that said if elected for another term, he would consolidate on the achievements recorded in his first term.

In his speech, President of the Senate, Senator Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, said the people of North East have nothing but praises for the APC administration for helping them overcome the challenges and developing the zone.

“The APC administration helped us discover oil here. The entire North East would have to reciprocate this gesture by voting for the APC in appreciation,” he said.

The Senate President told the audience that the PDP’s 16 years rule witnessed pervasive corruption, dereliction of duty and insecurity especially in the North East.

It is against this backdrop that the Senate President appealed to the people of Gombe State to vote for Bola Ahmed Tinubu, his running mate, Kashim Shettima and  Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for purposeful leadership.

Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Prof Isa Ali Pantami, who also addressed the rally delivered President Muhammadu Buhari’s plea for voters in Gombe State to support the party and its candidates at all levels.

He said President Buhari had declared support for Tinubu and all candidates of the APC in the forthcoming election which, he said, has made it binding on everyone in the administration to equally support the candidacies.

The Vice Presidential Candidate  of the APC,  Senator Kashim Shettima assured the people of better days ahead if the people vote for ruling party at all levels.

The National Women Leader of the APC,  Dr. Beta Eduh called on women in the state to vote for the party at all levels for sustainable economic and infrastructural development.

Member of the House of Representatives,  Hon. Aishatu Jibir Dukku, also thanked the people of Gombe for coming out so massively to support the party .She said that the huge crowd at the stadium is indeed an appreciation of what the administration of Governor Inuwa Yahaya is doing. She further solicited for his return to power as well as Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as President.  She said with the two of them in Gombe and Nigeria respectively, prosperity of citizens is assured.

The Coordinator of Tinubu/ Shettima Campaign in Gombe State,  Dr. Jamilu Isiyaka Gwamna had earlier delivered a welcome address on behalf of the entire APC family in the State.

Part of the highlights of the well attended APC Presidential Campaign was the reception of the State Chairman,  Exco members and National Assembly candidates of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP along with thousands of their supporters into the APC.

Other dignitaries who were at the rally included Governors Muhammad Badaru Abubakar (Jigawa), Mai Mala Buni (Yobe), Prof Babagana Zulum (Borno) and Hon. Simon Lalong (Plateau) who is also the Director-General of the Tinubu-Shettima campaign, former governor Ali Modu Sheriff, members of the National Assembly and other chieftains of the party.
