The President further directed the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation and the Chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission to immediately begin the employment process for all 200 awardees.
In a notable inclusion, 10 physically challenged ex-corps members, who suffered disabilities during their service year, will also benefit from this employment offer and scholarship opportunity.
President Tinubu reiterated his administration’s dedication to youth empowerment, highlighting initiatives in education, skill acquisition, technology, and innovation aimed at positioning Nigerian youth for leadership and economic impact.
Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, commended the President’s continuous support for youth-centred policies and programs.
“Your presence here is a testament to the deep-rooted love you have for our nation’s young people,” Olawande said, praising the honorees for exemplifying the best qualities of Nigerian youth and serving as role models for their peers.
He also cited the recent increase in NYSC members’ monthly allowance from ₦33,000 to ₦77,000 as a clear signal of the administration’s responsiveness to economic realities and its commitment to youth welfare.
Director-General of the NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, also spoke at the event, hailing the long-standing contributions of corps members to national development, especially in rural communities. He described Nigerian youth as “the future of our great nation” and a vital force in preserving Nigeria’s social, cultural, and national heritage.
