Troops Foil Attack On Zamfara Council Headquarters, Kill Four Bandits

TROOPS of Operation Hadarin Daji in Zamfara State have foiled an attack by armed bandits on Anka town, Headquaters of Anka Local Government Area and killed four bandits on Monday (today).

News Point Nigeria gathered that the troops who acted on intelligence report about the terrorists move to attack the town, engaged the Bandits in a gun duel which lasted for several hours.

Sources told News Point Nigeria that the troops conducted a fighting patrol to the bandits’ route at Tungar Mai-Rakuma village in Anka LGA and gun battle ensued.

However, the troops overpowered the bandits and forced them to retreat during which four bandits were killed and 3 motorcycles, 1 AK-47, large quantity of 7.62mm ammunition were recovered.

“After the encounter, four bandits were neutralised and items recovered include 1 AK-47, 3 Motorcycles, quantity of 7.62mm special rounds, other Bandits escaped with gunshot wounds,” a military source said.

The troops have continued to dominate the general area in order to capture, kill and deny the bandits freedom of operation.
