‘We Have Nothing To Do With Emir’s Residence Attack’, Dutse Royal Family Reacts

THE family of the Alhaji Basiru Muhammad Sanusi (Galadima Dutse) has denied any involvement in the reported attack on the Emir of Dutse, Ahaji Hamim Nuhu Sanusi, residence Tuesday morning.

    BORNO PATRIOTS

News Point Nigeria had reported that angry family members of the Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Hamim stormed his private residence, assaulted a few guards and stabbed his visiting childhood friend over some alleged utterances made against his uncle, Alhaji Basiru Muhammad Sanusi (Galadima Dutse).

A source in the Dutse Royal family told this newspaper that the unfortunate incident happened at 12:20am Tuesday morning, when the emir had retired to his private residence.

According to the source, some unpalatable things were allegedly said about the Alhaji Basiru Muhammad Sanusi (Galadima Dutse) by the Emir’s Aide, the Sallaman Sarkin Dutse, Yaya Muhammad.

The source added that, the gang led by the Emir’s cousin, Zaharaddeen Basiru Sanusi and his brother, Bello Nuhu Sanusi assaulted a few royal guards and attacked his childhood friend, Garba Adamu, Wakilin Danmansani, who came visiting from Kano and was accommodated in one of the Emir’s guest apartments

But responding to the publication, the Dan Isan Dutse, Zaharaddeen Basiru Sanusi expressed shocked over the report, stating that he was never at the Emir’s residence that night  and neither did he lead any gang anywhere for any attack.

“I am surprised about the report, I knew nothing about such attack and I was never at the Emir’s residence. This is not true. Personally, I hardly go out at night and you can confirm this from the Police too. My name was never mentioned in the report. I had nothing to do with this.

“My father, the Galadiman Dutse called me to inform me about some falsehood said about him by the Sallaman Sarkin Dutse, Yaya Muhammad and we decided to make a police report, which we did and you can also co firm that from the state police command.

“After a few days, on Monday to be exact, I bumped into the Sallaman Sarki on my way back from work, just around the corner and I spoke to him from my car and expressed my disappointment about things he allegedly said about my father. That was it and I drove off.

“I am a royal father. I have always been an advocate of peace and harmony. I don’t condone or support violence in any form and I will never be part of such things. It’s not me and my family has nothing to do with this reported attack”, he concluded.

Also speaking, Zaharaddeen’s brother, Ismail Basiru Sanusi stated that, he wasn’t involved in any assault against Sallama as reported and he had only met him after the attack at the Dutse Police Command.

“I am surprised Sallama alleged that I attacked him at Yahuza Suya, which is not true. When my father told me about what he said, he insisted I investigated and find out the true and I tried reaching Sallama to no avail and then we decided to make a police report. I met him when the police brought him to their office”, Ismail explained.

“But it is worthy of note that, these aides have been spreading a lot of falsehood and lies about our father, and he has always asked us to ignore them until now therefore we will take any legal action to protect our family name and reputation. If the Emir will continue to allow his aides to malign our father, we will do the needful lawfully because we won’t allow that be done to his own late father”, he further lamented.

On his part, the Emir’s brother, Bello Nuhu Sanusi added that, he came back from a visit from his friend’s house and met his family residence filled with strangers and head nothing about such attack.

“I came back home late that night and met the family house filled with strangers. So how I am reported to have led this attack on my brother’s residence baffles me. No royal guard was assaulted and it’s not the Emir’s residence. It’s our family house  and I didn’t  know about such attack”, he stressed.

When contacted on an update and clarification as promised, the Jigawa Police Spokesperson, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam insisted on getting back to this newspaper at a later time.
