PRESIDENT Bola Tinubu has publicly commended the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, describing his performance in tackling Nigeria’s security challenges as outstanding and result-driven.
News Point Nigeria reports that the president gave the endorsement on Monday during an official visit to Adamawa State, Ribadu’s home state, where he expressed strong confidence in the NSA’s leadership and commitment to restoring peace and stability across the country.
Addressing stakeholders during the visit, Tinubu openly praised Ribadu’s efforts in coordinating the nation’s security architecture.
“The National Security Adviser, the son of the soil, Nuhu Ribadu, I must say clearly here that you are doing an excellent job, and we are seeing the results,” the president declared.
He further reaffirmed his administration’s determination to confront and eliminate criminal networks destabilising various parts of the country.
“With you, we will defeat the bandits and terrorists. You are a good National Security Adviser, honest, courageous, and committed to the job,” Tinubu added.
The president’s remarks come against the backdrop of an ongoing rift between Ribadu and former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai.
El-Rufai had recently accused the NSA of allegedly orchestrating plans for his arrest through security operatives. He also claimed that Ribadu was linked to the importation of dangerous chemicals into the country allegations that have heightened political tension.
Ribadu has firmly denied the claims, describing them as baseless and unfounded. He challenged the former governor to present evidence before the State Security Service (SSS), insisting that due process must be followed in addressing such accusations.
Nigeria continues to grapple with complex security threats, including banditry, terrorism, kidnapping, and other violent crimes, particularly in the North-West and North-East regions.
The Tinubu administration has repeatedly pledged to strengthen inter-agency coordination, improve intelligence gathering and enhance operational capacity within the armed forces and security agencies.
By openly expressing confidence in his National Security Adviser, Tinubu appears to be reinforcing unity within his security team and sending a message of stability to both domestic and international audiences.
