THE Adewole Adebayo-Bugaje Presidential Campaign Council has declared that Prince Adewole Adebayo of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) is the best choice among all presidential candidates ahead of the 2027 general election.
News Point Nigeria reports that the declaration was made on Friday in Abuja during a press conference addressed by the Chief Communications Adviser of the campaign, Comrade Mark Adebayo.
Addressing journalists, Adebayo said Nigeria stands at a critical crossroads and needs an architect of real change, not more promises from the same political class.
“That is why we are here today to declare boldly, and with absolute facts, that Prince Adewole Adebayo is the best choice among all presidential candidates in Nigeria today,” he said.
The campaign council hinged its claim on intellect, preparedness, integrity and track record.
According to the council, unlike other candidates who rely on vague slogans, Prince Adebayo has unveiled a detailed policy document titled, “Farewell to Poverty and Insecurity,” which it described as a step-by-step master plan to fix the economy, build affordable infrastructure and protect human dignity within four years.
Citing the example of the late Lateef Jakande, who transformed Lagos within a single term, the council said Adebayo has insisted that four years is enough for a focused leader to rescue Nigeria.
The council also described Adebayo as a self-made leader with clean hands who has challenged the entire political class to produce a superior plan.
On the current political landscape, the council described the APC and PDP as “Siamese twins” and said the SDP represents the true third force Nigerians have been yearning for.
On Atiku Abubakar, the council said Prince Adebayo stands taller on personal integrity and professional excellence, noting that the former Vice President’s integrity had been questioned by the President he served with.
On Peter Obi, the council said Adebayo offers a superior approach beyond populist rhetoric and does not play to ethnoreligious sentiments. It added that Obi’s former running mate had declared him unfit and that Obi himself had indicated willingness to be running mate to Atiku.
On President Bola Tinubu, the council drew a sharp contrast on educational background and integrity, listing Adebayo’s academic path from St. Stephen Primary School, Ondo (1978-1983), St. Joseph College, Ondo (1983-1989), Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife (1991-1997), Nigerian Bar (2000) and the New York Bar, against what it described as shrouded history around the President’s education.
It challenged the President to a public debate on the economy, security, technology, agriculture, constitutionalism and other sectors, saying Adebayo is ready to debate any candidate at any time.
The council accused the Tinubu administration of entrenching multidimensional poverty, hunger and insecurity, and alleged that over 90 percent of Nigerians have rejected the possibility of re-election, adding that rigging structures were being put in place ahead of 2027.
It urged Nigerians to vote and protect their votes.
The council also issued a warning to corrupt office holders, stating that an Adewole presidency would restructure anti-corruption agencies to recover looted funds from past and present officials, including dead looters.
Quoting Obafemi Awolowo that “a democracy where the people are hungry and uneducated is a breeding ground for dictatorship and chaos” and Frantz Fanon that each generation must fulfil its mission, the council urged the media and electorate to look beyond ethnic sentiments and financial inducement.
“Look at the blueprints. Listen to the debates. Evaluate the intellect. When you weigh all the options objectively, you will find that Prince Adewole Adebayo stands completely alone at the top,” Comrade Mark Adebayo said.
