THE Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has postponed the unveiling and inauguration of its national campaign council for the forthcoming presidential election, moving the event from October 20 to October 26.
News Point Nigeria reports that the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director, announced the postponement in a statement issued on Monday, explaining that the change was necessitated by the “tight schedule” of the NDC presidential candidate, Peter Obi, who has an important overseas engagement.

The postponement comes amid discussions about a possible opposition alliance to field a single candidate to challenge President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
On Sunday, Kwankwaso said the NDC would not withdraw from the presidential race in favour of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) or any other political party.

Kwankwaso maintained that he and Obi remained committed to contesting the election, despite ongoing talks about a possible opposition arrangement to present a common candidate against Tinubu.
The party’s position underscores its resolve to proceed with its presidential campaign, with the unveiling and inauguration of the national campaign council now scheduled for October 26.
