PRESIDENT Bola Tinubu has hinted that he may not visit all states across the country during his re-election campaign ahead of the 2027 general elections, saying the demands of governance require his attention.
News Point Nigeria reports that the President gave the indication while speaking at the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council at the State House Banquet Hall, Aso Rock, Abuja, on Wednesday.

Tinubu said he had been advised not to allow the demands and rigours of the campaign to distract him from running the country, adding that Nigeria needed his attention at the moment.
Speaking shortly after inaugurating the council, the President said the responsibilities of his office might not allow him to accompany campaign officials to every state and local government area.
While promising to make time to speak directly with Nigerians, Tinubu told the campaign council, led by Senator Abdulaziz Yari, that he would not be able to visit all the states and local government areas during the campaign.
He said, “You have warned me and asked me not to allow the rigour of the campaign to distract me from governance. I hear you. I am in full agreement with your decision.

“Nigeria needs more attention now than ever before. The responsibility of this office does not pause.
“However, I will still make time to speak directly with Nigerians, even as you lead the campaign in the states and local government areas. So you will excuse me from going everywhere with you.”
Tinubu described the inauguration of the campaign council as more than a campaign activity, saying it represented a renewed commitment to Nigerians and the historic responsibilities entrusted to the ruling party.
“We have not gathered merely to inaugurate a council. We have gathered to renew a covenant. A covenant with Nigerian people and the historic responsibility they have entrusted to us as Nigeria’s governing party,” he said.

The President added that the council was expected to communicate his administration’s vision, achievements and agenda to voters across the country as it leads the campaign ahead of the 2027 elections.
“This council will carry our vision, our records and our agenda to every Nigerian, and it will carry them to victory every ward of this country,” Tinubu said.
