The statement said Governors Dauda Lawal (Zamfara), Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau), Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa), and Abba Yusuf (Kano), among others, are also billed for the conference.

Media leaders expected to attend the event include former Governor of Ogun State, Chief Segun Osoba; Chief Onyema Ugochukwu; former Special Adviser to the late President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina; and former Senior Special Assistant to Buhari on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu.

The NGE added that publishers/chairmen, boards of directors of newspapers, managing directors/editors-in-chief from newspapers and broadcast organisations, chairmen of media organisations’ editorial boards, and top editors were already in Abuja for the conference.

With the theme, “Democratic Governance and National Cohesion: The Role of Editors,” and the sub-theme, “Electoral Integrity and Trust Deficit: What Nigerians Expect in 2027,” the conference will examine the role of editors in promoting democratic governance and national cohesion.
