A FORMER Kano state chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Adamu Aliyu Sumaila is dead. Sumaila died Thursday night, 11:40pm, at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital after a brief illness, aged 76. THE Police Command in Adamawa State has deployed additional assets to ensure a hitch-free visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to the state. THE Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) have been awarded N500 million each by the Abdul Samad Rabiu Initiative for Africa (ASR Africa) Security Sector Support Grant. A 40-year-old man, Nuhu Umar Usman, has reportedly shot dead his second wife, Ladi Nuhu, at Dangarfa village in Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State. THE Sokoto Division of the Court of Appeal has reinstated Dauda Lawal as the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) governorship candidate in Zamfara State. THE Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, has said federal civil servants will start getting their allowances paid in full by January as soon as President Muhammadu Buhari, approves the payment. THE alarmingly growing number of married women involved with drug abuse has been described as the biggest challenge of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in the state.
