Just In: Ex-PDP Chairman, Adamu Aliyu Sumaila, Dies At 76

A FORMER Kano state chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Adamu Aliyu Sumaila is dead.

Sumaila died Thursday night, 11:40pm, at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital after a brief illness, aged 76.

In a statement issued on behalf of the family, by his son, Lawan Jaafar, the late Sumaila was buried according to Islamic rites at the Dandolo Cemetery in Kano, Friday.

He was survived by two wives, two children and 20 other foster children.

Sumaila was former chairman, Governing Council of the Federal College of Education, (FCE), Ubodo, former chairman of Lafiya Jari Kano and former Resident Consultant, UNICEF, Kano.
