THE Emir of Ningi in Bauchi State, Alhaji Yunusa Muhammadu Danyaya, is dead. Emir Danyaya was aged 88. He was said to have died Sunday morning at the Expert Alliance Hospital, Kano, two days after returning from a medical trip to Saudi Arabia. He passed away after spending 46 years on the throne. A DEVASTATING flood has ravaged several communities in Madagali Local Government Area, Adamawa State, leaving huge losses in its trail. The disaster has reportedly claimed six lives, displaced over 2,000 people, and destroyed numerous houses, farmlands, and bridges. BANDITS have raided Moriki community in Zamfara State on Wednesday night, kidnapped over 10 locals and demanded N50 million ransom. FLOODING has cut off the Azare-Ja’amare road along the Kano-Maiduguri Highway in Bauchi State.  Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, who inspected the affected area, said he has reported the situation to the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, who had visited last week when the road was initially threatened. THE Military has announced that troops of OPERATION HADARIN DAJI encountered an ambush by bandits at the general area of Bachaka Kurya Forest in Gudu Local Government Aarea of Sokoto State on the 10th of August at about 11:45pm, losing four personnel in the process. GOVERNOR Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has approved payment of N70,000 national minimum wage to workers on the state and local government payrolls. TRAGEDY struck on Sunday in Shagari local government area of Sokoto State when five, out of a seven members of a family died after consuming a soup prepared with a local fertilizer popularly known as Gishirin lalle. THE Katsina State Police Command has confirmed the killing of Sanusi Gyaza, an aide to the state governor, Dikko Radda. THE Taraba State government has issued a ban on the movement of cattle to and from the Mambilla Plateau in the Sardauna Local Government Area, following the confirmation of an outbreak of hemorrhagic septicemia, a deadly livestock disease.
