Bandits Kill Governor Radda’s Aide, First Wife, Abduct Second Wife

THE Katsina State Police Command has confirmed the killing of Sanusi Gyaza, an aide to the state governor, Dikko Radda.

The command, through its Public Relations Officer, Abubakar Sadiq, informed our correspondent in a telephone conversation on Sunday that it was aware of the incident, stating, “Yes, we are aware and we are on top of the situation.”

This newspaper learnt that the bandits killed Gyaza at his residence in the Gyaza community of Kankia Local Government Area of the state.

The incident reportedly occurred late on Friday and also claimed the life of his first wife.

The report indicated that Gyaza was the former Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers, Kankia LG chapter.

He was reportedly targeted by the assailants who stormed his home to carried out the attack.

It was also reported that during the raid, the bandits abducted his second wife, leaving the community in shock and mourning.

The tragic incident has heightened concerns about the escalating insecurity in the state, where the activities of hoodlums, including kidnappings and killings, have become rampant.

When contacted, Maiwada Danmallam, the Director-General (Media) to the state governor, did not respond to messages sent to his mobile at the time of filing this report.
