Bomb Blast Kills Two In Dalwa Estate Near Maiduguri

TWO persons have been killed by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion in a two-hundred housing estate under construction in Dalwa, Borno State.

Available information indicated that the explosion happened around 1pm on Wednesday about the time the Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum; and his Yobe counterpart, Mai Mala Buni, were commissioning housing estates in Maiduguri, the Borno State Capital.

A source told News Point Nigeria that a similar incident occurred on Tuesday but there are no details for the Tuesday explosion.

Dalwa is 175 kilometres from Maiduguri and is one of the many communities destroyed and displaced by the Boko Haram insurgents.

Zulum embarked on the reconstruction of the Dalwa community with two hundred houses.
