WITHIN the last ten months since joining the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Alhaji Ibrahim Ali Little has emerged as a major force behind the growth, consolidation, and grassroots expansion of the party in Kano State.
News Point Nigeria reports that this was disclosed by the former State Secretary of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) and Chairman of the CPC bloc within the ADC in Kano State, Hon. Abdullahi Dankano.
According to him, when Ibrahim Ali Little, alongside his supporters, political associates, and allied groups, defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ADC, he initially sought official membership materials from the then State Chairman, Malam Musa Ungogo. However, he was informed that the materials were unavailable at the time.
In response, Hon. Dankano revealed that Ibrahim Ali Little personally financed the production of 100,000 membership cards, party registers, and flags, which he subsequently handed over to the party leadership to facilitate large-scale membership registration and strengthen the party’s presence across Kano State.
He further stated that Little was also the only aspirant who contributed ₦10 million to support the purchase of membership cards from the party’s national headquarters and to enhance other party activities. He noted that another aspirant who contributed ₦1 million later requested a refund, which was approved and duly processed by the relevant committee.
Despite what he described as “unfavourable attitudes” from certain quarters, Dankano said Ibrahim Little remained committed and consistent in his support for the party’s development and unity.
He added that Ibrahim Ali Little stands out as the only ADC member who successfully established a functional and structured political network spanning the state level down to local government areas, wards, and polling units across all 44 LGAs of Kano State.
According to him, the structure built by Little is deeply rooted at the grassroots, with each ward accommodating a significant number of registered members, all properly documented for coordination and identification.
He further explained that in the eight metropolitan local governments, some wards reportedly have no fewer than 188 active members, while the broader structure includes over 200 members per ward in several locations, demonstrating what he described as a strong and organized political base.
Hon. Dankano therefore urged the leadership of the ADC and other stakeholders to recognize Ibrahim Ali Little’s contributions and consider him for support in his governorship ambition, noting that such recognition would strengthen the party’s chances of success in future elections.
He also emphasized that Ibrahim Little’s leadership qualities, political experience, and commitment had played a significant role in attracting many former CPC members into the ADC alongside him.
In addition, he highlighted consistent welfare support extended to party members across Kano State, particularly during festive periods.
He recalled that during the last Ramadan season, Ibrahim Little distributed 1,000 bags of 50kg rice, as well as macaroni and spaghetti to ADC members across the state, describing it as part of his humanitarian outreach and party support initiatives.
