PRESIDENT Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Ms. Rinsola Abiola as the new Director-General of the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre (CLTC), marking a significant step in the administration’s drive to promote leadership, civic responsibility, and youth development across the country.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Monday, by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga made available to News Point Nigeria.
Abiola, a seasoned professional in strategic communication and government relations, previously served as Senior Special Assistant to the President.
She is the daughter of the late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola, acclaimed winner of the annulled June 12, 1993, presidential election.
Known for her advocacy for women’s inclusion in politics, Rinsola has played key roles in policy communication and stakeholder engagement over the years.
In a related appointment, the President also named Nasir Bala Aminu Ja’oji as Senior Special Assistant on Citizenship and Leadership.
Ja’oji, who once served as Special Adviser on Mobilisation to the Governor of Kano State, has been actively involved in youth-focused initiatives as a member of the Governing Council of Coordinated Arewa Youth Groups.
A staunch advocate of women and youth empowerment, Ja’oji is expected to bring grassroots mobilisation skills and leadership development expertise to the role.
The Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre, an agency under the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, is tasked with training Nigerians especially youths in leadership skills, discipline, and national integration through various civic and adventure-based programmes.
A political analyst in Kano, Hudu Mainasara told News Point Nigeria that the appointments reflect President Tinubu’s renewed emphasis on fostering national unity, cultivating emerging leaders, and empowering citizens to participate actively in democratic governance.
