TWO very popular serving members of the House of Representatives and a former member of the National Assembly have joined the Action Peoples Party (APP), popularly described as the “big elephant party,” ahead of the 2027 general elections.
News Point Nigeria reports that the three politicians have also made the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) final list of candidates for the 2027 National Assembly elections, signalling their readiness to contest the forthcoming elections under the platform of the APP.
The lawmakers are Rt. Hon. Boma Goodhead, the current member of the House of Representatives representing Akuku-Toru/Asari-Toru Federal Constituency of Rivers State and APP candidate for the 2027 election; Rt. Hon. Alozie Munachim Ikechi, the current member representing Obingwa/Ugwunagbo/Osisioma Federal Constituency of Abia State and APP 2027 candidate; and Rt. Hon. Uju Kingsley Chima, a former member representing Oguta/Ohaji-Egbema/Oru West Federal Constituency of Imo State and APP candidate for the 2027 election.
The development was announced by Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, APP chieftain, candidate and current member representing Ideato North and South Federal Constituency of Imo State.
Ugochinyere welcomed the three politicians to the APP, describing the party as the “big elephant party” and wishing them great success in the political battle ahead.
He said the party was excited to have “great democratic fighters” such as Goodhead, Ikechi and Chima in its midst.
According to him, the APP is a political home for independent-minded, new-generation politicians seeking to change old ways for a new way dominated by the interests of the people.
He said the entry of the three politicians further demonstrated the party’s growing appeal to politicians committed to a new approach to democratic participation and representation.
Ugochinyere also urged the new APP members to remain focused and committed as they prepare for the 2027 National Assembly elections.
He reiterated that the party is determined to provide a platform for politicians who believe that the interests of the people should remain at the centre of governance and political decision-making.

1. Rt. Hon. Boma Goodhead
Current House of Representatives member representing Akuku-Toru/Asari-Toru Federal Constituency, Rivers State, and APP 2027 candidate.
2. Rt. Hon. Alozie Munachim Ikechi
APP 2027 candidate and current member representing Obingwa/Ugwunagbo/Osisioma Federal Constituency, Abia State.
3. Rt. Hon. Uju Kingsley Chima
APP 2027 candidate and former member representing Oguta/Ohaji-Egbema/Oru West Federal Constituency, Imo State.
Ugochinyere concluded by formally welcoming the three politicians to the APP and wishing them success in the battle ahead.
