THE All Progressives Congress (APC) has released a revised list of its Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 presidential election, featuring high-profile additions from opposition figures, serving governors and key legislative leaders as the ruling party expands its political coalition behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid.

News Point Nigeria reports that the revised list includes Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, who has been appointed Campaign Coordinator for Tinubu in both Rivers State and the FCT, in a notable cross-party alignment.

The updated list also incorporates Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, as the Osun State Campaign Coordinator, while former Gombe State Governor and serving Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senator, Ibrahim Dankwambo, has been appointed an Adviser to the Campaign Council alongside Obafemi George, who will also advise on media strategy.

Key leadership positions within the campaign hierarchy were also confirmed in the revised release, with Senator Abdulaziz Yari retaining his position as Director-General of the re-election campaign.

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, was named Deputy Director-General for South II, while the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Martin Amaewhule, will serve as South-South Deputy Coordinator for State Assemblies Mobilisation.

Minister of Works, David Umahi, was appointed Deputy Director-General for Infrastructure and Sensitisation.

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has been named Director of Finance, while Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, and Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS), Zacch Adedeji, will jointly coordinate fundraising operations.

Former Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, was named Director for Stakeholder Mobilisation, while former Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola, will serve as the South-West Zonal Coordinator for Stakeholders’ Mobilisation.

Chief Ayiri Emami was named Director for Special Duties, while former Super Eagles captain Joseph Yobo was appointed Deputy Director for Sports Sector Mobilisation.

Minister of Solid Minerals, Dele Alake, will retain his position as Official Spokesman for the Campaign Council.

The revised campaign structure also expands the media communications team, with Minister of Aviation Festus Keyamo, Abdulmumin Jibrin, Lere Olayinka, media aide to FCT Minister Wike, and Segun Sowunmi joining the team.

In administrative and operational roles, Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, will continue as Secretary of the Campaign Council, supported by APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Bashiru, and Hadiza Bala-Usman as Deputy Secretary and Assistant Secretary, respectively.

Representative James Faleke will serve as Deputy Director-General for Election Planning, Coordination and Monitoring.

APC Expands Coalition Ahead of 2027 Elections
The expansion of the campaign structure underlines the ruling party’s strategy to build a broad-based political coalition as momentum builds towards the 2027 general elections.

The revised list features serving governors, former governors, lawmakers, ministers, political strategists and figures associated with opposition parties, reflecting the campaign’s broad mobilisation approach.

However, a statement by the APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Bashiru, said the Campaign Council would be nominated on Wednesday.
