THE Oba Yoruba of Kano, Amb. Dr. Murtala Alimi Otises has tasked journalists to redouble their efforts in promoting peace and unity in the state and the nation as a whole.
He made the call at his palace during Ramadan breakfast with some select journalists on Saturday.
Ambassador Murtala further called on hood people of Kano to continue to live in peace and harmony with one another for the progress of the state.
According to him, it’s no surprise that the state is now regarded as one of the most peaceful states in Nigeria.
The peace ambassador said Nigerians irrespective of their religious believe should live peaceful with one another and promote brotherliness and respect one another.
On his part, the leader of the delegation, Vice President Northwest, Sport Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Comrade Lurwanu Idris Malikawa Garu commended the efforts of the Oba for organizing a football competition title Community Peace Cup, the first of ots kind in the state, as well as promoting peaceful coexistence in the state.
