LOVE and admiration flowed from Aso Rock on Sunday as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu celebrated his wife and Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on her 65th birthday.
In a deeply personal and emotional message personally signed by the President himself and sent to received by News Point Nigeria, Tinubu described the First Lady as “the love of my life, my confidant, my counsellor, and the steady flame illuminating my path.”
The President’s statement, which read more like a heartfelt love letter than a formal presidential message, highlighted the First Lady’s quiet sacrifices and her enduring influence both within their family and on the nation.
“Through every season, from the long years of struggle and political exile, to leadership responsibilities, you have stood firmly by my side with dignity, patience, and devotion that words can scarcely express,” Tinubu said.
President Tinubu praised Senator Oluremi not only as a devoted wife and mother but as a national figure whose empathy and advocacy continue to touch millions of Nigerians through her humanitarian initiatives and work as First Lady.
“Nigeria owes you more than many will ever know. In every sacrifice you made quietly, in every burden you carried without complaint, you have served this country as surely as I have, not from the podium, but from the heart of our home,” the President stated.
President Tinubu’s message also underscored the depth of his personal affection for the First Lady.
“Today, as your husband, I thank God for your life, health, and unwavering love. As your President, I salute you as the First Lady whose warmth and empathy continue to touch millions of lives across our land.
“And as your lifelong companion, I say that I love you more than ever, and am blessed every day by your presence,” he wrote.
The First Lady, widely regarded as a symbol of grace, faith, and resilience, is expected to mark the day with prayers and a private celebration with family and close associates.
Senator Oluremi Tinubu, a three-term Senator representing Lagos Central before becoming First Lady, is celebrated for her focus on youth empowerment, education, women’s rights, and community development through initiatives such as the Renewed Hope Initiative.
President Tinubu ended his message with a prayer for continued joy and peace in her life:
“Happy 65th birthday, Oluremi. May the years ahead be filled with joy, peace, and the fulfilment you so richly deserve.”
