In a statement sent to News Point Nigeria by the National Secretary, Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu (Esq.) sent to News Point Nigeria on Tuesday, the party said the earlier deadline of 6:00pm on Sunday, May 17, 2026, has now been extended to 12:00 midnight on Sunday, May 24, 2026.
According to the party, the screening of aspirants who have purchased and duly completed their Expression of Interest forms will commence on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, and will run until 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2026.

The party further directed that all documents submitted to the screening committee must be provided in six copies each.
It explained that screening will be based on key considerations, including the wishes of the electorate, local peculiarities, capacity and competence of aspirants, and character.
The Screening Committee was also instructed to take into account the party’s affirmative action policy, especially in relation to women, youths, and persons living with disabilities.
