THE Jigawa State Hisbah Board has expressed deep sorrow and extended its heartfelt condolences to the Jigawa State Government, the Jigawa State Traditional Institutions, the people of Gumel Emirate and the entire people of Jigawa State over the death of His Royal Highness, the Emir of Gumel, Dr. Ahmad Muhammad Sani.
News Point Nigeria reports that the late Emir passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2026, in Cairo, Egypt, where he was receiving medical care, with his death prompting an outpouring of condolences from institutions and individuals across Jigawa State.
In a condolence message signed by the Commander General of the Jigawa State Hisbah Board, Dr. Muhammad Fa’iz Bashir Haruna, the Board described the death of the Emir as a great loss to the people of Gumel Emirate, Jigawa State and the traditional institution in general.
The Commander General extended his deepest sympathies to the Jigawa State Government, the Emirate Council, traditional rulers, the people of Gumel Emirate and the immediate family of His Royal Highness, praying that Almighty Allah would grant them the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Dr. Muhammad Fa’iz Bashir Haruna prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the late Emir, accept his good deeds, grant him eternal rest and admit his soul into Aljannatul Firdausi.
He also prayed for Almighty Allah to grant the bereaved family, the people of Gumel Emirate and the entire people of Jigawa State patience and comfort during this difficult period.
“May Almighty Allah forgive His Royal Highness, have mercy upon him, grant him Aljannatul Firdausi, and give his family and the entire people of Jigawa State the strength to bear this irreparable loss. Ameen.”
The Jigawa State Hisbah Board said the passing of the revered monarch had left a significant vacuum in the traditional institution, while joining the people of the state in mourning the loss of a long-serving traditional ruler.
The Board reiterated its condolences to the Jigawa State Government, traditional institutions, Gumel Emirate and the late Emir’s immediate family, praying that Allah would give all those affected the fortitude to cope with the loss.
The death of the Emir has continued to attract condolences from government officials, traditional institutions and organisations across the region, with tributes highlighting his decades of service to the people of Gumel and Jigawa State.
