NASARAWA State governor, Abdullahi Sule, has revealed that 20 aspirants have already indicated interest in succeeding him in 2027 governorship election in the state.
Sule disclosed this during a grand reception held in Lafia in honour of the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Labaran Magaji.
The governor, however, declared that he would not anoint or impose a successor, saying he will allow the will of God prevails.
While acknowledging the intense political atmosphere, Sule said: “I want to use this opportunity to inform you that so far, about 20 people are already in the race for the governorship of Nasarawa State.”
He noted that the emerging competition would require political maturity from the aspirants, including alliance-building, reconciliation, and cooperation.
“There is going to be a lot of alliances, a lot of forgiveness, and a lot of teamwork if we really want to move forward, because at the end of the day, only one person will get it,” he said.
“It is God Almighty who will select our next governor, not A.A. Sule.”
Sule also took time to appreciate President Bola Tinubu, acknowledging what he described as the President’s consistent support for Nasarawa State and its development agenda.
