Press Statement

OUR attention has been drawn to the continuous harassment of former Kogi Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

We deem it necessary to set the record straight on this matter; it is an established fact that the eight-year tenure of Yahaya Bello in Kogi brough about unprecedented infrastructural development, quality education, free for all healthcare and massive women and youth empowerment across the state.

The man practically re-defined good governance in the Kogi. The good people of Kogi state can attest to this.

Therefore, we wish to call on the anti-graft agency to be fair and just in their fight against corruption and abide by the rule of law.

Conclusively, we the Coalition Of Arewa Professionals Forum stand by this illustrious son of Kogi and warn his ‘hidden political persecutors’ to leave Yahaya Bello alone.

Again, we appeal to the EFCC to desist from being used as a tool for political fights by some enemies of Nigeria’s progress.

Signed:

Abraham Atowodi

Hassan Galadima
