FOLLOWING the return of normalcy to Kano, Governor Abba Yusuf has approved the lifting of the curfew imposed in the state with immediate effect.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday by the State Commissioner for Information, Halilu Baba Dantiye, who urged security agencies to remain vigilant and ensure the maintenance of law and order in the state.
“The security agencies should also ensure that no space is given to hoodlums, miscreants and other criminals to perpetrate any act of lawlessness as a result of the lifting of the curfew,” the statement read.
News Point Nigeria reported on Tuesday that Kano state police command has announced relaxation of the ongoing curfew in the state from 6am to 6pm.
This announcement was made by the Kano State Commissioner of Police, Dogo Salman, following a joint security meeting with Governor Abba Yusuf at the Government House.
Commissioner Salman then emphasized the government’s commitment to maintaining peace and order in the state while gradually easing restrictions to allow residents to resume their daily activities.
He noted that the decision to relax the curfew hours reflects the improved security situation and the efforts of the security agencies in restoring normalcy in Kano.
