THE International Association Of World Peace Advocates IAWPA yesterday paid a condolence visit to the family of late Amb. Yusuf Yunusa Who died recently.
Amb. Yusuf Yunusa before his death at the Yobe State University teaching hospital, was the Nigerian High Commissioner to Kenya. He was aged 73.
The condolence visit which was initiated by Amb. John Metchie the IAWPA African Director was aimed at identifying and recognizing the contributions of the late Yunusa and also to commiserate with the family of the deceased at this period of mourning.
Amb. Metchie who was represented by the International Spokesman of IAWPA Amb Emmanuel Nkweke during the condolence visit, presented a condolence letter to the family where the association hailed the contributions of the late diplomat in his community as well as the diplomatic community in Kenya where he forged a good diplomatic relationship with other countries as well as the Kenyan government.
Amb. Metchie assured the family that the association will host one of the United Nations events in Damaturu, Yobe state as a way of recognizing the efforts and contributions of the late Amb. Yusuf Yunusa next year.
Recall that the late Amb. Yusuf Yunusa was appointed as a. Eminent Peace Ambassador early this year when IAWPA took part in the World Habitat Assembly which held in Kenya. He was also appointed as the Head of Diplomatic Missions by Amb. John Metchie during the Assembly at Kenya.
Late Ambassador Yusuf Yunusa was born in Nguru in the year 1950 and he is survived by four wives, 21 children, many grandchildren and brothers, including Engineer Mustapha Yunusa Maihaja, former Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA.
