THE Kano State Censorship Board has suspended two film actors, Amina Uba Hassan, popularly known as Amina Rani, and Adam Garba, also known as Raba Gardama, over the alleged release of an immoral video to the public.
According to the Executive Secretary of the Kano State Censorship Board, Abba El-Mustapha, the actors were suspended for a period of one year from all filming activities within Kano State for violating the state’s censorship regulations.
A statement signed by the Board’s spokesman, Abdullahi Sani Sulaiman sent to News Point Nigeria late on Sunday, warned that any breach of the specifications of the suspension order would attract serious court sanctions.
The statement also urged directors, producers, and other stakeholders in the film industry to comply strictly with the suspension directive, noting that any violation would attract appropriate punishment in line with the law.
It further stated that the alleged immoral video had generated tension within communities across the state, stressing that the Board has the legal mandate to suspend any actor or actress found to have violated Kano State censorship laws within its jurisdiction.
The statement cautioned all Kannywood stakeholders to remain mindful of actions capable of tarnishing the image and reputation of the Kannywood industry in the eyes of the public.
