MINISTER of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, on Sunday held their second meeting under the Rainbow Coalition to deepen their peace deal and align political interests ahead of the 2027 general elections.
News Point Nigeria reports that the meeting, held behind closed doors at Fubara’s private residence in Port Harcourt, brought together leaders and supporters from both camps to address outstanding differences and strengthen efforts to present a united front for the forthcoming elections.

Wike arrived at the governor’s residence at about 4:30 p.m., accompanied by a large delegation of Rainbow Coalition leaders, including the coalition’s governorship candidate, Kingsley Chinda, and the Chairman of its Reconciliation Committee, Senator Magnus Abe.
The governor’s expansive compound reportedly witnessed a flurry of activity as two long buses and several private vehicles conveyed visitors to the residence. Candidates seeking various elective offices under the coalition were also said to have joined the delegation.
Although details of the discussions were not made public, sources described the meeting as a strategic engagement aimed at strengthening reconciliation, resolving outstanding issues and coordinating the coalition’s preparations for the 2027 elections.

“The engagement provided another opportunity for stakeholders from the two camps to come together, address their differences and work towards lasting peace and unity in Rivers State,” a source said.
Another source said Wike and Fubara were making concerted efforts to unite their supporters and ensure that the coalition approached the elections with a common political agenda.
Sunday’s meeting marked the second time Wike had led members of his camp to Fubara’s residence, following a similar engagement on October 6.
The latest meeting also came after Wike’s appointment by the APC Presidential Campaign Council as coordinator for Abuja and Rivers State, underscoring the political significance of the ongoing consultations ahead of the 2027 polls.

The engagement was also part of wider negotiations aimed at harmonising interests and finalising arrangements for the coalition’s 2027 campaign council.
In recent weeks, Wike has been touring local government areas across Rivers State, holding strategic meetings with political stakeholders as he mobilises support for the coalition’s candidates.
The renewed engagements between the minister and the governor are expected to shape the political alignment of their respective camps as preparations for the 2027 general elections gather momentum.
