THE Niger State chapter of Organized Labour has rejected the N110 million palliative allocated to it by the state government saying, the money should be added to the palliative earmarked for the civil servants in the state.
The State Chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Abdulkarim Idris Lafene, made the disclosure while addressing newsmen in Minna.

Umar Bago’s led government for excluding pensioners in the sharing fomular of the palliative added that the exclusion of the senior citizens is a serious source of concern for the labour unions and that such flaws would not be condoned.
The Chairmam, who directed the state civil servants to boycott the committee set up by the state government for the sharing and distribution of the palliative, noted that the two days warning strike scheduled to commence tomorrow is still enforce.
Lafene, said the organized Labour is demanding for the sum of N50,000 flat rate palliative across board for all the civil servants in the state adding the payment should cover a period of six months.
“The N110 million palliative allocated to Organized Labour by Niger State government should be collapsed into the salaries of the civil servants and retirees in both the state and local government councils.
“The plan by NIger state government to scheme out the pensioners in the distribution of the palliatives has rise an issue of serious concerns among members of Organized Labour.
“Workers in the state are hereby directed to boycott partipation in the committe set up by the NIger state government for the distribution of palliatives scheduled to commence tommorrow.
“Organized labour in the state is demanding for the payment of N50,000 flat rate palliatives to the Civil Servants and retirees in the state and local government councils. We are also calling for the suspension of PAYE deduction and immediate implementation of outstanding promotions and annual increment for those that qualified among the workers.”
