THE Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), has commenced ‘Operation Free our Roads’ initiative nationwide in line with Mr. President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The Managing Director/CEO, Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), Engr. Chukwuemeka Agbasi PhD, disclosed this on Wednesday 31st July, 2024 at the Agency’s Headquarters, Abuja.
Engr. Agbasi revealed that under this administration, about 286 Capital, Recurrent and Direct Labour works that are within FERMA Scope of works have been completed by the Agency across the six Geopolitical Zones, and approximately 22,800 direct and indirect jobs were created which has improved the quality of lives of the benefiting youths along the abutting road corridors and communities where we worked.
He noted that there may be hardship, but there is light at the end of the tunnel, we see a lot of hope and positive indices. Therefore, let us support Mr. President to make our country great again.
Engr. Agbasi further said, the “operation free our roads” is a joint initiative between the Federal Ministry of Works and FERMA as part of government’s efforts to put citizens first by fixing the roads, especially during this rainy season. Assuring that all the Directors and Engineers of FERMA are fully involved.
The projects executed under the different intervention of the Agency’s programme according to the MD include Patching of Potholes, Pavement Strengthening, Repairs of failed sections, limited rehabilitation, Bridge/culverts construction and General Maintenance.
