PRESIDENT Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be in Jos, the Plateau State capital, on Saturday, October 4, 2025, for a one-day working visit that combines a condolence gesture with a strategic outreach to religious leaders in the North.
According to a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Friday made available to News Point Nigeria, the President will attend the funeral prayers of Nana Lydia Yilwatda Goshwe, the late mother of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nantewe Yilwatda Goshwe.
The President is expected to join family members, political associates, and well-wishers to honour the matriarch, who passed away recently after a life described by relatives as one of service, faith, and community devotion.
Following the funeral rites, President Tinubu will hold a closed-door meeting with senior Christian clerics from across Northern Nigeria at the headquarters of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), one of the largest and oldest Christian denominations in the region.
The engagement with church leaders is seen as part of the President’s broader efforts to foster religious harmony, dialogue, and mutual trust across Nigeria at a time of heightened security and social challenges.
The President is expected to return to Lagos later the same day after completing the dual engagements in Jos.
This visit underscores Tinubu’s emphasis on strengthening party unity, supporting key allies within the APC, and deepening interfaith understanding in the country.
