THE Honourable Minister of State for Works, Rt. Hon. Barr. Bello Muhammad Goronyo, has described the Caliphate Icon Awards as a powerful platform for inspiring excellence, integrity, and selfless service across Northern Nigeria.
News Point Nigeria reports that Goronyo made the remarks while delivering a keynote speech as Special Guest of Honour at the 2025 Caliphate Icon Awards, an event organised by the Caliphate Youth Forum in collaboration with Amazing Fame, and widely regarded as one of the most prestigious honours celebrating public service excellence in the region.
Addressing a distinguished audience that included respected elders, youth leaders, traditional rulers, public office holders, and award recipients, the minister commended the organisers for sustaining what he described as a “noble and purposeful initiative” that continues to spotlight individuals making meaningful contributions to society.
“Awards such as this go beyond mere recognition,” Goronyo said. “They inspire purpose and remind us that progress is built by individuals who choose, daily, to give their best often quietly and sometimes against great odds for the good of others.”
He stressed that no contribution to national development is insignificant when driven by integrity, dedication, and a genuine desire to uplift others, urging especially young Nigerians to remain steadfast in their commitment to positive societal impact.
According to him, the stories of the award recipients stand as living proof that hard work, resilience, and service do not go unnoticed, adding that the honourees should see themselves as role models whose achievements can motivate others to pursue excellence in their chosen fields.
The minister also used the occasion to acknowledge the efforts of the Tinubu-led administration, noting that the federal government remains committed to recognising hard work, rewarding excellence, and creating an enabling environment where innovation, talent, and dedication can flourish across all sectors of the Nigerian economy.
“The administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is resolute in its determination to build systems that encourage merit, promote innovation, and reward commitment to national service,” he said.
Goronyo congratulated both the organisers and award recipients, expressing hope that the recognition would spur them to even greater service to their communities and the nation at large.
The event attracted high-profile dignitaries, including the Royal Father of the Day, the Wazirin Sokoto, Prof. Sambo Wali Junaidu, and the Mother of the Day, Kebbi State First Lady, Hajiya Zainab Nasir Idris, further underscoring the significance of the awards.
The Caliphate Icon Awards, organised by the Caliphate Youth Forum, has over the years grown into one of the most respected award platforms in Northern Nigeria, celebrating excellence in public service, leadership, and community development.
