A CHIEFTAIN of the All Progressives Congress, Commander Yilchini Jan Bida, has declared that he is fully prepared to challenge Caleb Mutfwang in any future governorship election in Plateau State, insisting that a transparent and credible electoral process would guarantee his victory.
News Point Nigeria reports that Bida made the declaration while speaking with journalists in Jos, where he expressed confidence in his political strength and what he described as his growing support base across the state.
According to him, the outcome of any future governorship contest in Plateau would depend largely on the credibility of the electoral process.
“If there is a free and fair election, I will defeat the incumbent Governor,” Bida stated.
The APC stalwart maintained that he is not intimidated by the current administration, adding that the people of Plateau State are eager for a new direction in governance.
His comments have already triggered reactions within Plateau’s political landscape as political observers and stakeholders begin assessing possible alignments and emerging rivalries ahead of the next electoral cycle.
The statement is also expected to intensify discussions within the APC regarding potential governorship aspirants and the party’s strategy for reclaiming power in the state.
Political analysts say Bida’s remarks reflect the growing political activities already taking shape in Plateau State despite the governorship election still being some time away.
