KADUNA State Governor, Uba Sani, has approved a fresh round of political appointments and constituted governing boards for key state institutions as part of efforts to strengthen governance, improve service delivery and advance the state’s development agenda.
News Point Nigeria reports that the appointments were announced on Monday in a statement issued by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibraheem Musa.
According to the statement, the new appointments include Audu Maikori as Chief Strategic Adviser on Intergovernmental Affairs, Umar Maicitta as Senior Special Assistant on Community Relations, and Aminu Mohammed Gusau as Senior Special Assistant on Policy Communications.
Governor Sani also approved the appointment of chairmen and members of the governing boards of several strategic institutions across the state, including Kaduna State University, the Kaduna Mining Development Company, the Kaduna State Schools Quality Assurance Authority, the Kaduna State Livestock Regulatory Agency and the Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC).
As part of the appointments, Ibrahim Umar was named Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Kaduna State University, while Lawal Umar Meyere was appointed Chairman of the Kaduna Mining Development Company Management Board.
Similarly, Tanko Kokwain was appointed Chairman of the Kaduna State Schools Quality Assurance Authority Management Board, while David Umar Gurara emerged as Chairman of the Kaduna State Livestock Regulatory Agency Board.
In the same vein, Yakubu El Saad Lere was appointed Chairman of the Board of the Kaduna State Media Corporation.
The statement explained that the appointments were aimed at injecting fresh energy into the public service and strengthening institutions responsible for implementing the government’s development priorities across the state.
It described the appointees as seasoned professionals and experienced leaders who were selected on the basis of their competence, proven track records and commitment to the socio-economic development of Kaduna State.
Governor Sani congratulated the newly appointed officials and urged them to regard their appointments as a call to public service.
He charged them to discharge their responsibilities with diligence, transparency, accountability and strict adherence to ethical standards in order to accelerate the delivery of democratic dividends to the people of Kaduna State.
