A MYSTERIOUS fire gutted the headquarters of the Kano State Police located at Bompai, Nasarawa Local Government Area, Saturday afternoon.
Even though the cause of the fire outbreak was scanty as at the time of filing the report, a source, who pleaded anonymity, told News Point Nigeria that, the fire started from the Finance Department and spread to the closest office of the Deputy Commissioner (Admin) and to other offices.
The source added that, Kano State Police Commissioner, Mamman Dauda had deployed a special unit of fire investigators to unravel the ignition source of the fire.
Many offices and documents were reported to have been burnt down but inmates are intact and the operatives of the State Fire Service were mobilised to the affected scene to quench the fire on the one-storey building of the Command
News Point Nigeria gathered that the entire upstairs was completely burnt down and only the office of the Commissioner, which is highly fortified, was not affected by the inferno.
The spokesperson of the police Command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa could not be reached, as his telephone line was switched off at the time of filing this report.
