SUPER Eagles striker Victor Boniface has described his 2025–26 loan spell at Werder Bremen as a “crazy” and challenging experience following a difficult campaign marked by injuries, failed high-profile transfer moves, and a significant dip in form.
News Point Nigeria Sport reports that Boniface made the remarks in a post shared via his official X handle, where he reflected on what turned out to be one of the toughest periods of his professional career.
The Nigerian international endured a prolonged goal drought during his time at Werder Bremen, failing to score in 11 Bundesliga appearances after departing parent club Bayer Leverkusen on loan.
The striker struggled throughout the season with recurring knee problems and poor physical condition, factors that severely limited his impact at the club.
Due to his fitness concerns and inconsistent form, Boniface made only limited appearances for Bremen, with many of his outings coming from the bench rather than in the starting lineup.
The difficult campaign also came amid failed high-profile transfer moves and mounting frustration over his inability to rediscover the form that previously established him as one of the Bundesliga’s most exciting forwards.
Reacting to the disappointing season, Boniface openly expressed his frustration and disappointment with his performances during the loan spell.
“Wow. Crazy season for me, a lot has happened,” the Super Eagles striker wrote on his official X account.
Despite the struggles, the Nigerian forward appreciated the support he received from the club’s fans, staff and teammates throughout the difficult period.
“Just want to say thank you very much to fans and staff and players,” he added.
Boniface’s comments come after a turbulent season that saw the striker battle both physical setbacks and loss of form while attempting to revive his career during the temporary move to Werder Bremen.
The former Bayer Leverkusen forward is now expected to focus on regaining full fitness and rediscovering his best form ahead of the next campaign.
