KANO State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has condemned the gruesome killing of a social media influencer and political commentator, Ibrahim Khalil, popularly known as Danshagamu.
News Point Nigeria reports that the Governor directed security agencies to immediately fish out those responsible for the crime, describing the killing as shocking and unacceptable and expressing concern over the circumstances surrounding the incident.
This was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Governor’s spokesman, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Director-General, Media and Publicity, Government House, Kano.
Governor Yusuf called for a thorough investigation into the incident to ensure that all those involved are identified and brought to justice.
The Governor extended his heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and associates of the deceased, praying Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him eternal rest.
He urged the people of Kano State to remain calm and avoid taking the law into their own hands, assuring them that the government would continue to work with security agencies to protect lives and property across the state.
The Governor further directed the relevant security agencies, particularly the Kano State Commands of the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigeria Police Force, to intensify efforts to identify, arrest and prosecute the perpetrators.
He stressed that no individual or group would be allowed to take the law into their own hands.
