THE Plateau State Police Command has arrested two suspected members of the notorious Sara-Suka gang during a security operation aimed at curbing criminal activities in parts of Jos North Local Government Area.
According to police sources, the suspects were apprehended following intelligence reports linking them to violent activities and disturbances that have troubled several communities within the Jos metropolis.
The operation reportedly led to the recovery of dangerous weapons as well as quantities of suspected hard drugs believed to have been used in carrying out criminal acts.
Police authorities said the arrests form part of ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal networks and restore peace and security across the state.
As part of the strategy, security operatives have intensified surveillance activities and conducted raids on identified criminal hotspots in a bid to rid communities of cult-related violence, drug abuse, and other forms of criminality.
Residents of the affected communities have welcomed the development, describing the arrests as a positive step toward improving security and protecting lives and property.
Community leaders also called on law enforcement agencies to sustain the momentum and ensure that individuals involved in criminal activities are brought to justice.
The Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding citizens and maintaining law and order across Plateau State.
It also urged members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information that could assist security agencies in the fight against crime.
