AS part of his constituency developmental project, the Member representing Geidam, Bursari, Yunusari Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives, Hon Lawan Shettima Ali has empowered thousands of constituents in Geidam town, Yobe state.
The empowerment exercise includes distribution of; 3 well equipped ambulances, 4 gulf wagon,15 Jega (Boady’s Tricycle machine), 35 Keke Napep, 77 grinding machines, 350 water pumping machines for irrigation, dry season farming, 65 wheelchairs (circles) for people with disabilities, 330 sewing machines, 62 cows, farming ploughs, 31 instructional materials with HP Laptops for five schools across the constituency, 600 bags of 25kg rice, 600 bags of 25kg grains and others.
Speaking at the ceremony, Shettima said he was full of gratitude to Allah for making this day come true, and commends his constituents for their support and encouragement.
Shettima promised more for the people, just as he also asked the entire people of Yobe state to vote for the APC candidates from the President down to the least contested seat. Adding that, the APC administration under President Muhammadu Buhari has done a remarkable job of improving security in North East and the country at large.
“I wish to thank the government of Governor Mai Mala Buni and President Mohammadu Buhari for providing an enabling environment so conducive for my people.” Shettima said.
The event attracted high profile politicians including the Speaker, Yobe State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Ahmed Lawan Mirwa with other state members, local govt caretaker chairmen, APC local govt and wards party chairmen as well as thousands of APC party supporters.
The occasion also witnessed the defection of many top PDP supporters to the ruling APC.
The Items were distributed across the 31 political wards of the three local governments, and many constituents appreciated the gesture, and they stressed that these empowerments will boost the economic activities of the people in the area and Yobe state at large.
