THE National Progressive Serving Councillors Forum (NPSCF) has congratulated former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, and immediate past National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, on their appointments to key leadership positions within the APC Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 general elections.
News Point Nigeria reports that the forum expressed confidence in the capacity of both leaders to contribute to the ruling party’s campaign efforts, following President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s appointment of Senator Yari as Director-General of the campaign council and Dr Ganduje as Director of Stakeholder Mobilisation.
In a statement issued yesterday in Abuja by the National Chairman of the NPSCF, Hon. Muslihu Yusuf Ali, the forum described the appointments as an indication of the confidence reposed in the two party leaders and their political experience, organisational capacity and grassroots reach.
“These appointments are a clear testament to the trust, capacity, political sagacity, and grassroots reach of these two revered leaders of our party,” Ali stated.
The forum highlighted Yari’s record as a political mobiliser, expressing confidence that his experience would help coordinate campaign operations nationwide and strengthen the APC’s efforts ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
It also noted that Ganduje’s extensive background in party administration and stakeholder engagement makes him well suited to galvanise support across key political blocs and strengthen coordination among the various interests within the party and its wider political structure.
As an association representing serving local government councillors across the country, the NPSCF said the campaign council’s emphasis on local structures was particularly important to driving effective grassroots voter outreach ahead of the election.
The forum stressed that local government structures would remain critical to the mobilisation of voters, voter education and effective communication of the party’s campaign message across communities nationwide.
The NPSCF therefore pledged to deploy its network across Nigeria’s 774 Local Government Areas to support the campaign leadership and contribute to voter education, registration drives, Permanent Voter Cards (PVC) collection and initiatives aimed at increasing voter turnout.
The forum said it would undertake the mobilisation under the direction of the new campaign leadership, while expressing confidence that the appointments of Yari and Ganduje would strengthen the APC’s grassroots campaign machinery as the 2027 general elections approach.
