    Speakership: Sada Soli’s Experience Matters

    FOR over a decade, Hon. Sada Soli has been a committed representative of the Jibia/Kaita Federal Constituency in the National Assembly. His political career began in 2006 when he was first elected, and he has remained in the limelight ever since.

    He attended various schools in Katsina state and obtained both primary and secondary school education. he continued his academic journey at the College of Education Kafanchan and then at the renowned Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, where he earned his undergraduate degree. He furthered his education by obtaining a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Abuja.

    He was a good instructor and teacher during his time in the educational sector.

    Nevertheless, Hon. Sada’s tenure as a lawmaker has been marked by a string of historic achievements, which have endeared him to his constituents. He has been able to reclaim his position multiple times, with each reelection being more resounding than the last.

    In the most recent election, Hon. Sada successfully defended his seat with a comfortable margin, cementing his position as one of Kaita/Jibia’s most beloved representatives. This feat is a testament to his unwavering commitment to the people he serves, as well as his impressive political acumen.

    In 2009, Hon. Sada was appointed to the crucial position of Chairman of the House Committee on Inter-Parliamentary Affairs. Hon. Sada possessed a wealth of knowledge and expertise in policy, politics, and the workings of the assembly. This has earned him the chance to lead and coordinate different committees at the national assembly and to represent Nigeria in the international arena.

    From 2009 to 2010 he was appointed as a regional representative (West Africa) to the commonwealth parliamentary association which marked his contribution to national unity and regional coexistence.

    Through his tireless efforts, Hon. Sada has been a driving force for accountability, transparency, and participation in government. He recognized the need to enact tougher ethics reforms to improve the integrity of government institutions and promote public trust in the democratic process.

    With this goal in mind, Hon. Sada worked tirelessly to introduce and pass some of the toughest ethics reform legislation in the assembly. These reforms were designed to promote ethical behavior, prevent conflict of interest, and increase transparency in government decision-making.

    Hon. Sada’s leadership and expertise in this area have been instrumental in bringing about positive change in government institutions. His efforts have not only strengthened the ethical framework of the assembly but also inspired greater confidence in the integrity of government processes.

    Overall, Hon. Sada’s appointment as Chairman of the House Committee on Inter-Parliamentary Affairs has proven to be a wise decision. His dedication, knowledge, and expertise have been invaluable in promoting greater accountability, transparency, and participation in government.

    Since 2007, Hon. Sada has served on various House committees including Chairman of the House Committee on Cooperation and Integration in Africa, as well as the Agricultural, Production and Services, Federal Capital Territory, Banking and Currency, Foreign Affairs, Defence, Interior Power, Works, Climate Change, Capital Market, and Lake Chad committees. In addition, Sada has been involved in reviewing and addressing issues related to unspent funds, the electoral act, the petroleum bill, and power.

    He is an indisputable leader, a team player, and a skilled legislative strategist. And through his impeccable leadership style, he has been able to keep his caucus in line through a combination of attentiveness, a clear understanding of the issues, and a readiness to promptly manage anyone who did not fulfill their commitments.

    He has shown great commitment both to education and to public service. He has made his mark in the teaching profession and has contributed to the service of Nigeria both as a public servant and a political officeholder.

    As a party loyalist, Hon. Sada played vital roles in defending his party, especially at the recently concluded Presidential election where his contribution and selfless services through his constituency empowerment projects earned him a prestigious position on the mind of the electorates and the good people of Katsina state in general.

    Hon. Sada Soli is an eminent personality, a God-fearing politician, a grassroots mobilizer, a courageous gentleman, a philanthropy, a lovely father and husband, a political mentor to many, a lover of knowledge, an erudite parliamentarian, and an astute administrator.
