    Gombe Approves Over N38bn For Construction Of 17 Roads, Bridges

    THE Gombe State Executive Council, presided over by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has approved over Thirty Eight Billion Naira ( 38bn) as contract sum for the construction of seventeen (17) roads and some bridges across the State

    Briefing newsmen at the end of the SEC meeting, the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Mr. Meshack Audu Lauco listed the projects as follows: the  Kaltungo General Hospital road network awarded at the cost of Five Hundred and Seventy Seven Million, One Hundred and Seventy Thousand, Seven Hundred and Ninteen Naira;  3 span Bridge at Titi to Stangayari at the cost of Two Billion,  Four Hundred and Ninety Eight Million, Seven Hundred and Fifty Thousand, Five Hundred and Eighty Six Naira;  the  road network at General Hospital Kumo valued at Six Hundred and Eighty Three Million, Nine Hundred and Ninety Thousand, Eight Hundred and Eighty Nine Naira, Sixty Three kobo.

    Other projects approved by the State Executive Council, the commissioner further explained, include; the 4.55 kilometers Jalingo Township roads in Funakaye LGA awarded at the cost of Two Billion, One Hundred and Seventeen Million, Four Hundred and Seven Thousand, Three Hundred and Fifty Naira,  Seven kobo,; the 2.7 kilometers Bajoga township roads at the cost of One Billion, Four Hundred and Thirty Million, Seven Hundred and Eighty One Thousand, One Hundred and Eighty Eight Naira, Thirteen kobo.

    Also awarded are the 4.03KM Dumbu- Tsando road awarded at the cost of Two Billion, Four Hundred and Ninety Eight Million, Four Hundred and Ninety Two Thousand , Seven Hundred and Forty Seven Naira, Fifty kobo;  the construction of 1.8 KM access road to Government Mega College Dadinkowa at the cost of One Billion, Three Hundred and Eighty Seven Million, Seven Thousand, Eight Hundred and Eighty Four Naira, Eighty Eight kobo,; the 1.5 KM access road to Government Mega College Dukku awarded at the cost of Seven Hundred and Ninety Nine Million, Thirty Six Thousand, Eight Hundred and Eighty Six Naira,  Six kobo.

    Equally approved by the State Executive Council are contract for the construction of 1.55 KM of road network in General Hospital Bajoga at the cost of Nine Hundred and Sixty One Million, Eight Hundred and Twenty Nine Thousand, One Hundred and Sixty Six Naira, Twenty Two kobo, the rehabilitation of 4.7KM Kumo township roads awarded at the cost of Two Billion, Two Hundred and Ninety Five Million , One Hundred and Seventy Five Thousand, Three Hundred and Twenty Three Naira, Forty Four kobo, the 11.5KM  Kwadon- Kunji -Jada -Goni Bukar -Laleko to Sabon gari at the cost of  Six Billion, Five Hundred and Ninety Six Million, Nine Hundred and Forty Four Thousand,  Three Hundred and Fifty Six Naira, Eighty Eight kobo and the 10.5 KM road networks in Tunfure ( North and South) awarded at the cost of Six Billion,  Four Hundred and Ninety Eight Million,  Four Hundred and Twenty Thousand Ninety Six Naira,  Fifty Six kobo.

    EXCO also approved contract for the construction of a 4 span Bridge at Hayin Kwarin Misau at the cost of Two Billion,  Five Hundred and Six Million Nine Hundred and Thirteen Thousand, Six Hundred and Eighty Three Naira, Forty Five kobo;  6 KM Kaltungo township roads awarded at the cost ofTwo Billion, Nine Hundred and Fifty Nine Million,  Six Hundred and Seventy Three Thousand,  Eight Hundred and Seventy Two Naira,  Thirty Eight kobo; the construction of access road to Government Mega College Kaltungo at the cost of Seven Hundred and Eighteen Million, Eight Hundred and Ninety Seven Thousand,  Four Hundred and Eight Naira Thirteen kobo.

    Also okayed are the contract for the construction of 7 KM Billiri township road awarded at the cost of  Three Billion, Eight Hundred and Forty Three Million, Three Hundred and Ninteen Thousand, Seven Hundred and Twenty Five Naira, Fifty kobo and a spur road to Kanuwal of Yamaltu Deba LGA.

    Responding to questions from newsmen,  the Commissioner of Works and Transportation, Engr Abubakar Bappah explained that the avalanche of road projects awarded by the administration of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya is not only geared towards attaining the goals of network eleven hundred ( Network 11-100) but to deliver a sound and purposeful leadership to the people of the state as well as bring the dividends of democracy to the doorsteps of the people. All the projects have various completion periods ranging from 3, 6 to 12 months.
