ATALANTA have placed a £52 million price tag on Nigerian winger and 2024 African Footballer of the Year, Ademola Lookman, as Arsenal intensify their chase of the in-form forward.
According to Corriere della Sera, the Serie A side considers the fee a fair valuation for the 27-year-old, who is at the peak of his career.
Lookman has Premier League experience from previous stints with Charlton Athletic, Everton, Fulham, and Leicester City, which could ease his transition back to English football.
Arsenal are in the market for a versatile forward this summer, and Lookman has emerged as a top target. Reports indicate the player is keen on a return to the Premier League, which further fuels the speculation around a potential move to the Emirates.
While Aston Villa and Liverpool are also monitoring the Nigerian international, the Gunners are currently seen as frontrunners.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is reportedly eager to add depth on the left wing, with Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard struggling for consistency last season.
Lookman had a standout 2024/25 campaign with Atalanta, scoring 20 goals and registering seven assists in 40 appearances across all competitions. His performances helped the Italian side secure a strong season domestically and in Europe.
Although Real Madrid’s Rodrygo remains Arsenal’s top attacking target, Lookman is considered a strong alternative should a deal for the Brazilian fail to materialise.
Since joining Atalanta in 2022, Lookman has become a key figure of the team, and the club is unlikely to let one of their best players leave the Gewiss Stadium for a low fee.
