ENGLISH Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion have announced the signing of Super Eagles winger Femi Azeez from Championship side Millwall on a four-year contract for an undisclosed fee.
News Point Nigeria Sport reports that Brighton completed the deal after both clubs submitted a deal sheet ahead of the 11 p.m. deadline on Tuesday, extending the deadline until 1 a.m. on Wednesday and allowing them to conclude the transfer before the extended deadline.
Brighton Sporting Director Mike Cave said: “We are delighted to add Femi to the squad. He arrives off the back of an excellent season with Millwall, having played a key role for them as they finished in the playoffs.
“He was one of the most exciting attacking talents in the Championship, and we’re delighted to have finally agreed his transfer, and we now looking forward to working with him.”
Azeez made 77 appearances for Millwall, scoring 15 goals and providing 13 assists. The 25-year-old has worked his way through the divisions to reach the Premier League.
After playing for Watford at youth level, Azeez joined non-league Northwood.
He also spent time with Wealdstone and Hanwell Town before signing for Reading in 2019 and later moving to Millwall in 2024.
Last season, Azeez was named in both the PFA and EFL Championship Teams of the Season for the 2025/26 campaign.
The winger has also represented Nigeria at senior level, scoring both of the Super Eagles’ goals in a 2-0 win over Zimbabwe on his debut in June this year.
He then provided an assist in Nigeria’s next game as the three-time African champions defeated Jamaica 3-0 four days later to win the Unity Cup in London.
Azeez becomes the second Nigerian player currently on Brighton’s books this season after the Seagulls earlier sealed the signing of fellow Nigerian winger Zadok Yohanna from Swedish club AIK Stockholm.
