News Point Nigeria reports that the governor made this known through the State Head of Service, Yakubu Sani Haidara, during the official inauguration of the university’s pioneer management team on Wednesday, at the Federal Ministry of Education headquarters in Abuja.

Governor Lawal described the university as a “life-changing project” that will not only expand access to advanced medical and technological education but also place Zamfara on the map as a strategic hub for healthcare innovation and research.

“This project will open new frontiers in human capital development, medical training, and healthcare delivery not just for Tsafe, but for the entire state and beyond,” he stated.

The governor also commended Senator Ikira Aliyu Bilbis of Zamfara Central for championing the cause that led to the establishment of the university, hailing his vision and dedication to the educational advancement of the region.

At the event, the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Olatunji Alausa, officially presented the appointment letter to Professor Ibrahim Adamu Yakasai, mni, appointing him as the pioneer Vice Chancellor of the institution.

Dr. Alausa congratulated Professor Yakasai, describing his appointment as the dawn of a new era for Tsafe and Northern Nigeria.
