VICTOR Osimhen says his relentless work ethic would have made him wealthy even outside football, as he reflected on his tough upbringing and deep connection with Galatasaray.
News Point Nigeria Sport reports that the 27-year-old is currently in Nigeria recovering from a fractured right forearm sustained during Galatasaray’s 4-0 defeat to Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 at Anfield.
Osimhen collided with Ibrahima Konate early in the game but played on through the first half before the injury was confirmed.
Speaking during a livestream with Carter Efe, Osimhen recalled the grind that shaped his mentality.
“I get that belief in myself, even when I was in the trenches when it was tough—the way we had to hustle,” he said.
“There’s no legit work you’ll call me for that you won’t meet me there at five in the morning, or four, or three, wake me up, I go hustle.
“Even if not through football, I will have money like mad. That’s the way I believe in myself.”
Osimhen also spoke passionately about his bond with Galatasaray, describing the club as a turning point during a difficult phase in his career.
“Gala is more than a club for me. We were meant to cross paths,” he said.
“When you enter that club, you see how they treat players, how they give everything for the badge. From other experiences, you see players deprived of real love.”
He added that the affection extends beyond the pitch, revealing that even his family has embraced the club’s culture.
“Even my daughter, she’s more inclined to that club than me,” he said.
