THE National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), David Mark, has assured party members that the ADC will be on the ballot for all elections in 2027, despite ongoing legal challenges.
News Point Nigeria reports that the former Senate President made the assurance on Wednesday night after receiving a briefing from the party’s legal team on the recent judgment of the Federal High Court in Abuja.
Senator Mark dismissed concerns over the litigations involving the party and expressed strong confidence that the ADC would secure a favourable outcome in all pending cases.
“You do not have anything to be afraid of regarding all the litigations before the party,” he said.
“I want to assure you that we shall triumph in all the cases, and we shall be on the ballot for every election.”
He further stated that the party remained fully prepared to confront the legal challenges ahead, adding that all steps would be taken within the ambit of the law.
“We are more than prepared and ready for these cases, and we shall do everything within the ambits of the Law to surmount every situation,” Mark said.
In a firm declaration of leadership, he added that he would take a frontline role in the legal battle despite not being a lawyer.
“In this legal battle, though I am not a lawyer, I will lead from the front, and we shall surely triumph,” he said.
Already, the ADC legal team has begun the process of appealing the court judgment and has also applied for a stay of execution.
Senator Mark’s reassurance comes at a critical time for the party, as it intensifies preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Earlier, the party’s legal team had briefed him and other members of the leadership on the implications of the Federal High Court ruling and outlined strategies for handling the cases going forward.
