Banditry Horror: Kaduna Woman Returns Home Pregnant After Five Months In Captivity

A WOMAN abducted from Kasuwan Magani community in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State has reportedly returned home pregnant after spending five months in captivity.

    NEW UBA

News Point Nigeria gathered that the development was disclosed by media personality, Reuben Buhari, who narrated the circumstances surrounding the woman’s abduction and eventual release.

According to Buhari, who regularly shares updates on insecurity-related incidents through Facebook posts, the victim was abducted alongside three other persons while attending to her seriously ill mother.

Her release, he said, came two days ago after ransom was paid to the kidnappers.

“She was tending to her seriously ill mother in Kasuwan Magani when kidnappers broke into the house and took four of them,” Buhari wrote.

He further disclosed that the woman endured months of hardship while in captivity, battling hunger, sickness, and repeated physical abuse in the bush.

“For five months, she was held in the bush, battling hunger, sickness, and enduring constant beatings,” he added.

Following her release, Buhari said the victim was taken to a hospital, where medical personnel discovered that she was pregnant.

He attributed the pregnancy to repeated assaults she allegedly suffered during her captivity.

“We took her to the hospital and found out she was pregnant,” he wrote, adding that her present health condition has delayed any immediate medical decisions.

According to him, the victim expressed a desire to terminate the pregnancy, but doctors advised against carrying out any immediate procedure because of her weak condition.

“Her decision to evacuate the pregnancy couldn’t proceed because she was weak and needed stabilization first, including pints of blood,” Buhari stated.

He further revealed that the woman is also battling other health complications, including severe swelling of her feet after reportedly spending months barefoot in harsh conditions.

Beyond the physical challenges, Buhari noted that the victim continues to suffer deep emotional and psychological trauma from her ordeal.

“Her ordeal isn’t what most people would want to hear. This is the experience some female victims of kidnapping go through,” he added.

The incident is not the first time disturbing reports involving female kidnap victims have emerged from the state.

Last month, bandits reportedly killed two women among 14 persons abducted from Janjala community in Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

This newspaper had earlier reported how a vigilante member, his wife, and 12 other residents were abducted from the community.

The kidnappers were said to have demanded a ransom of N14 million.

Families of the victims reportedly made repeated pleas to the bandits, but the abductors refused to reduce their demands.

The families later struggled to raise N13 million, which they delivered to the kidnappers.

Sources said the bandits subsequently released some of the women in captivity while continuing to hold the men hostage.

A source from the area told News Point Nigeria that after receiving the ransom at a location around Hayin Dam forest in neighbouring Kachia Local Government Area, the kidnappers informed the families that the two women had been killed.

According to the source, the young women had allegedly resisted attempts by some of the bandits to sexually assault them.

“As the girls refused to allow the bandits rape them, their leader ordered them to be shot on the spot,” the source said.
